Better mobile data, automatically
Surfe now cleans and validates mobile numbers before delivering them to you.
This is available to all customers on all plans, across the Surfe App, Chrome extension, and API. No setup is required.
What does Surfe do?
Before delivering a mobile number, Surfe:
- Fixes common formatting issues
- Adds the correct country code when possible
- Converts numbers to international format
- Checks that the number is valid
- Removes numbers that fail validation
- Searches other providers for a valid replacement when possible
You are never charged for an invalid number.
Why might I get fewer numbers?
That's expected.
Instead of delivering an invalid number, Surfe removes it and continues searching for a better result.
You may therefore get fewer numbers, but better-quality ones.
Since March, Surfe has identified almost 140,000 invalid mobile numbers before they reached customers.
Does this guarantee that every number will work?
No.
Validation confirms that a number is valid and correctly formatted. It does not guarantee that:
- The person will answer
- The number hasn't recently been disconnected
The number still belongs to the right person
Does Surfe check Do-Not-Call lists?
No, not currently.
DNC checks, carrier information, WhatsApp status, and reachability scoring are not part of the current validation.
Is my data sent to another company?
No.
The validation runs directly on Surfe's side using an open-source phone-number library. Your numbers are not sent to an external validation provider.
What if I receive an invalid number?
A clearly invalid or incorrectly formatted number should not normally reach you.
If it does, contact Support with the contact, phone number, and where you found it (App, Chrome extension, or API), and we'll investigate.
In short
Surfe now adds its own quality check on top of its provider network.
You get cleaner mobile numbers, invalid numbers are filtered out, and you don't pay for numbers that fail validation.
